The approach

How Irika approaches healthy weight gain

  1. Check the why first

Unintended weight loss can have medical causes, so if your weight has dropped without trying, we'll make sure your doctor has looked into it.

  2. Add, don't stuff

Small additions — a spoon of nut butter, a glass of milk, a handful of roasted chana — add up without making meals feel like a chore.

  3. Build, not just gain

Pairing extra food with protein and some resistance exercise helps more of the gain become muscle.

What happens next

  1. Say hello on WhatsApp

A line about what you'd like help with is plenty. You'll get available times and current fees before anything is booked.

  2. Your first consultation

Usually 45–60 minutes, online or in person in Mumbai. We go through your health, routine and goals.

  3. Your personalised plan

Built around your food, your kitchen and your week — shared with you digitally.

  4. Follow-ups that adjust

Shorter check-ins (20–30 minutes) to review progress and fine-tune the plan.

Questions

Common questions about healthy weight gain

How quickly can I gain weight in a healthy way?

It varies with appetite, activity and health. Gradual gain — think a kilogram or so a month — is easier to sustain and more likely to include muscle.

Should I just eat more fried food and sweets?

They add calories but little else, and can leave you feeling unwell. Energy-dense whole foods do the job better and support your overall health.

Do I need weight-gainer shakes?

Usually not. A homemade milkshake with banana, oats and nuts often does the same job for less money. If a supplement makes sense for you, we'll discuss it.
